Sweet Pickle Sticks
Ingredients6 pints prepared cucumber sticks 3 3/4 cups vinegar 3 cups sugar - (to 6 cups) 3 tablespoons salt 4 1/2 teaspoons celery seed 4 1/2 teaspoons tumeric 3/4 teaspoon mustard seed
MethodUse fresh, firm medium cukes. Wash and cut into sticks. Pour boiling water over them and let them stand 4 to 5 hours.
Drain and pack solidly into sterilized jars. Make the solution, and boil 5 minutes. Pour hot over cukes to within 1/2-inch of top of jar. Seal. Process in hot water bath for 5 minutes.
This recipe yields 6 pints.
